(University of California, Berkeley, High honors). 1978: Dr. iur. utr. (Freiburg i.Br., summa cum laude). 1980: Second State examination (Stuttgart, 1/334). 1987: Habilitation (Freiburg i.Br.).

Law of obligations (contracts, torts, restitution), sales law, international commercial law, CISG

Arbitral experience
Repeated appointments as chair, co-arbitrator and sole arbitrator, Swiss co-counsel (Swiss Rules, ICC, DIS, LCIA, ad hoc). Regularly acting as expert on Swiss and German law. Subject matter of proceedings: sales and supply contracts, construction, plant and equipment, distribution, joint ventures, commercial contracts.
