Present Position
Georg Scherpf practises at Luther as a German attorney (Rechtsanwalt) and a solicitor (England and Wales) and is part of the arbitration practice group. He advises and represents clients in commercial and investment arbitrations as well as in associated litigation. He also sits as arbitrator (Chair, party-appointed and sole arbitrator).

Training / Professional Experience
Georg Scherpf studied law at Humboldt University Berlin and King’s College London, and practises as a German attorney (Rechtsanwalt) and a solicitor (England and Wales). Between 2013 and 2016 he was regional representative of the DIS40 and from 2016 to 2019 YIAG regional representative for Europe. He regularly publishes and speaks on international dispute resolution and arbitration.

Areas of specialisation
His commercial arbitration work covers a broad range of legal issues and sectors including international trade, corporate disputes (joint venture and post M&A), energy as well as construction disputes.
His public international law experience includes advising clients in relation to bilateral investment treaties (BITs) and multilateral investment treaties including the Energy Charter Treaty (ECT).

Arbitral experience
Georg Scherpf has represented clients in ad hoc arbitrations seated in Germany, England, Switzerland and Singapore and under various institutional rules (DIS, ICC, LCIA, ICSID, SIAC and SCAI). Moreover, he advises clients on conflict of laws, contract law, commercial and international sales law (CISG).
