The German and Dutch Arbitration Friends presents: What's Wrong with Legal Decisions? Cognitive Bias and How to Mitigate Them

DIS-Event

Organizer: DAA/DIS/NAI Arbitration Group

’From brain to bailiff’: The German-Dutch Arbitration Group of the DIS, the DAA and the NAI ("The German and Dutch Arbitration Friends") invites you to an event to take place in Amsterdam on 17 April 2024 on two very interesting topics: Ula Cartwright-Finch will explore, on the basis of neuroscientific findings, which psychological and cognitive biases influence judges and arbitrators in their legal decisions and how parties’ counsel can deal with them in a meaningful way. Beyond, a panel of experienced practitioners will analyze in a comparative manner the possibilities and pitfalls of enforcing arbitral awards in the Netherlands and in Germany. Participation is free (but certainly valuable).
