German Arbitration Day, Beijing

On Thursday, 7 September, the first German Arbitration Day took place in Beijing. After the opening speeches by the Secretary General of China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission (CIETAC), Chengjie WANG and the DIS Vice President, Rouven F. Bodenheimer, further speeches and panel discussions followed. Rouven F. Bodenheimer also spoke on the panel "Reform of Chinese and German Arbitration Laws". More than 80 registered delegates made the event generously hosted by CIETAC a full success.

Meeting of the DIS with CCPIT Mediation Center

There was also a institutional meeting of the DIS with China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CPPIT) Mediation Center. This institution is the leading and largest commercial mediation institution within China. The exchange was focused on potential initiatives for cooperation in the field of Mediation. With handling almost 10,000 mediations a year with 66 offices all over China, there is a lot that we can learn!

The DIS would like to thank Heiko Heppner, Miao Lin and Joachim Glatter from the DIS Chinese-German Working Group for making all this possible. The group is keen to keep growing and everyone is invited to join!
