Ramona Schardt, Secretary General of the DIS, visited the São Paulo Arbitration Week (SPAW) from 16 – 20. October 2023 and participated in a panel discussion on „The Evolving Role of Arbitral Institutions“ at the X CAM-CCBC Arbitration Congress.
Together with colleagues from other arbitral institutions, they touched on issues at the heart of the arbitral world, including competition and cooperation between arbitral institutions, challenges to arbitrators, guerrilla tactics, transparency and efficiency in international arbitration. The panel was moderated by Ricardo Aprigliano, Vice President of the CAM CCCBC.
During her stay in Sao Paulo, Ramona Schardt took the time to meet with various colleagues from the vibrant Brazilian arbitration community in order to foster relations with the German arbitration community and to lay the groundwork for a possible DIS bilateral arbitration group between Germany and Brazil. We will continue to build bridges and create opportunities for an even more robust global arbitration network. Stay tuned!
