What is your role at the DIS?

I’m a Case Administrator, a part of the Case Management Team. Every case is administered by a Counsel and an Admin, who are working together from the day a Request shows up in the inbox until the Arbitrators announce their final decision.

Of course, that is not all we do, but I also don’t think you want to hear an in-depth narrative of my first month here.

What path led you to the DIS?

I’m originally from Cologne, not far from here. After finishing my A-Levels I moved to Wales for a year and did Volunteering Work.

Following my Volunteering Work, I moved to Landau and started training to become legal secretary, which I finished a year early. During my Training I collected some experiences at law firms.

I was looking for something more to start my Career, preferably closer to my family again. And in all honesty, I was not entirely sure what exactly I was looking for, but after my Interview at the DIS, I was sold on starting my career here.

What do you particularly appreciate about your work?

The people I work with. When I first arrived, I was so nervous, that I arrived over an hour early. But the nervousness was completely unnecessary, I was greeted with open arms. Everyone here is super helpful and nice.

I also appreciate the relationship between Counsel and Case Administrator. I come from a Law Firm where the hierarchy was set in stone and the appreciation for Legal Secretaries was sometimes missing. Here at the DIS I would call the relationship between Counsel and Case Administrator “symbiotic”. We see ourselves as a team that constantly learns from each other and improves the way we can work together.

What motivates you?

Barney (Philipps Dog) and the baby kittens from next door.

How would you describe the DIS in three key words?

Dedicated, Incomparable, Sharp

Tell us a fun fact we should know about you?

I can bark and it does sound like a chihuahua that someone just stepped on.
