Following the UK's withdrawal from the EU (Brexit) and in accordance with the Christmas Eve trade deal, as of January 1, 2021, the UK will be subject to the same data protection law for a further period of maximum six months. This means that transmissions to the UK will continue to be possible for the time being under the previous conditions. It remains to be seen whether the EU Commission will issue an adequacy decision on the level of data protection in the UK by the end of the aforementioned period.
