What is your role at the DIS?

As an IT coordinator at DIS, I work with my colleagues to ensure that our entire IT environment runs smoothly, securely, and reliably. We take care of everything from setting up and configuring systems to maintaining and optimizing our infrastructure. 

What path led you to the DIS?

Considering my age, I have been traveling along many different IT paths for quite some time – a journey that has not always been straight, but one full of turns and curves. What once appeared to be detours turned out to be valuable building blocks of experience.

At DIS, I can draw on these experiences: connecting user needs with technical solutions, diving into logical structures, and engaging openly with colleagues across the organization.

What do you particularly appreciate about your work?

Although my previous roles offered insights into business, IT services, public administration, and associations, DIS opened up an entirely new field for me.

Beyond that, I especially appreciate the excellent team spirit within our IT department and the genuinely collegial, inclusive atmosphere at the Bonn site – regardless of age, gender, or background.

What motivates you?

One of my biggest motivations is our small IT team. I love that no day is like the one before — there is always a new challenge, something to improve, or something interesting to discover.

How would you describe the DIS in three key words?

Dynamic – Inspiring – Supportive

Tell us a fun fact we should know about you.

There’s a fun overlap between me and my colleague in Berlin: we both share an interest in the world of table tennis. Over time, however, our theoretical knowledge has become much better than our actual playing skills.
