DIS is pleased to announce that the German Arbitration Digest (GAD), a service to the arbitration community to promote Germany as an arbitration venue, has exceeded 1,000 followers on LinkedIn.
On 12 September 2024, DIS and DIS40 started this online project to bridge the language gap in arbitration-related case law. GAD offers comprehensive summaries of decisions from Germany's highest courts, making them available in the English language for an international audience. German Arbitration Digest (GAD) supports lawyers, courts and users worldwide by providing easy access to German arbitration jurisprudence, thereby increasing the predictability of legal decisions. Additionally, it not only showcases how arbitration matters are handled in Germany, but also contributes to the global Case Law on UNCITRAL Texts (CLOUT) database.
We are indebted to Evgenia Peiffer for conceptualizing and implementing GAD during her time as DIS40 co-chair, to Marie Grüger, Nadja Harraschain, Polina Lehmann and Christian Steger as DIS40 co-chairs for continuing and expanding the project, to Lars Markert and Nils Schmidt-Ahrendts of the DIS Advisory Board for launching and continuously supporting the project and to Thomas Losem of the DIS Secretariat for patiently accompanying the conceptualization and diligently implementing GAD.
