Together with NERA, we kindly invite you to the Expert Witness Cross-Examination Workshop on 30 October 2025. The event will take place at the offices of OPPENLÄNDER Rechtsanwälte in Stuttgart (Börsenplatz 1, 70174 Stuttgart).
This interactive workshop offers a unique opportunity for participants to plead before experienced arbitrators and to cross-examine real quantum experts from NERA. Teams of two participants acting as counsel and one NERA expert will, in self-study, analyse mock international arbitration case materials and prepare their cross-examination strategy. On the day of the "hearing", each team will deliver an opening statement focused on the expert opinions (approx. 10 min), followed by a cross-examination of the opposing team's expert (approx. 35 min).
The workshop will conclude with a reception featuring food, drinks, and networking opportunities, sponsored by Oppenländer.

- The workshop will be held in English.
- If you are interested in attending, please specify whether you would like to be member of a counsel team and plead/cross-examine or whether you would like to simply participate as part of the audience.
- If you want to plead/cross-examine, please note that places are limited. Registration is possible as a team of two or as individuals. Please make sure that you will be able to devote sufficient time to your preparation.
- We warmly encourage everyone interested to register as counsel and take the opportunity to test their cross-examination skills, even if it’s for the first time. The workshop is designed as a supportive learning experience, not a competition. Therefore, no prior experience with cross-examination is required. Please register by 25 September 2025 at the latest.
