On 16 and 17 May, the DIS hosted an advanced mediation workshop at its premises in Bonn for students, coaches, and arbitrators who had participated in the 32nd Vis Moot.
Titled “Mediating the Vis Case,” the workshop was led by Natascha Tunkel and Katja Kröll, who expertly guided participants through how the parties in the Vis Moot case might have resolved their dispute through mediation. Their engaging and hands-on approach helped bring the mediation process to life. The workshop explored the interests and economic drivers behind the dispute, suitable dispute resolution methods, and essential aspects of mediation preparation — from both the parties’ and mediators’ perspectives. It also covered mediation techniques and process design in a practical and interactive setting.
An additional thank-you goes to Kirstin Schwedt, Thomas John, Rouven Bodenheimer, and Stefan Kröll, whose generous sharing of their expertise added valuable depth to the workshop discussions.
