The Berlin Dispute Resolution Days are jointly organised by the German Arbitration Institute (DIS), the Federal Ministry of Justice (BMJV) and Humboldt University of Berlin (HU Berlin). Together, the organisers aim to create a forum that combines practical experience, academic perspectives and policy discussions while showcasing the breadth and diversity of the international dispute resolution community.
Several anchor events have already been confirmed for BDRD 2026, including the:
- Opening Conference of the BMJV
- Humboldt Dispute Resolution Conference
- 8th Karl-Heinz Böckstiegel Lecture
- DIS Gala Dinner
- DIS Autumn Conference 2026
- DIS40 Autumn Conference 2026
In addition to these anchor events, a broad range of side events will be hosted by leading law firms, arbitral institutions, companies and practitioners. More than 60 side events have already been scheduled, underscoring the strong interest from the international dispute resolution community and the growing importance of the BDRD as a global meeting point for arbitration and dispute resolution.
Commenting on the continued growth of the event, Nils Schmidt-Ahrendts, Member of the DIS Board of Directors and the BDRD Organising Committee, said:
“Not only the growing number of events, but also the diversity of hosts demonstrates that the Berlin Dispute Resolution Days are becoming a firmly established highlight on the international arbitration calendar. This momentum has inspired us to revamp the website and to bring the Days to a fitting close with a party on Thursday evening — after all, this is Berlin!”
A newly launched BDRD website will serve as the central source of information for participants, speakers and event hosts. The website will provide regular updates on the programme, speakers, registration opportunities and side events in the months ahead.
