DIS40 Nord: Northern European Workshop

DIS40-Event

03. Sep 2026

Organizer: DIS40 Nord, YAPN, YACF, YAC, YAS

We are thrilled to invite you to the upcoming Northern European Workshop, taking place on 3–5 September 2026, this year in Oslo, following last year's iteration in Helsinki.

The Young Arbitration Practitioners Norway (YAPN), the Young Arbitration Club Finland (YACF), the German Initiative of Young Arbitrators North (DIS40 Nord), the Young Arbitrators Copenhagen (YAC), and Young Arbitrators Sweden (YAS) are co-hosting a seminar and workshop to foster the international exchange among younger arbitration practitioners in an informal and interactive setting with the aim of providing practical knowledge for the participants.

This year, we will again discuss best practices in advocacy throughout the lifecycle of an international arbitration, with a focus on mapping the cultural differences and similarities that characterise Nordic practice. From building a career as counsel and independent arbitrator, through opening and closing statements, the taking of evidence with the assistance of the courts, and the effective management of expert evidence, to the emerging role of AI in arbitration, we will seek insight into whether there is a distinct Nordic approach to international arbitration – and what its advantages may be. Alongside the substantive discussions, there will be plenty of time to connect with fellow practitioners and enjoy the social side of the programme – and for those staying through Saturday, an opportunity to experience Oslo.

Please find attached the invitation with further details on the event and key practicalities.

We look forward to welcoming young arbitration practitioners to Oslo for an exciting programme of workshops, networking, and social events. In the meantime, please register and get ready to secure your spot!

See you in Oslo!

DIS40 Nord: Northern European Workshop

Registration

Registration for the event is open now. As spots are limited, we strongly encourage you to register promptly through this link.

A confirmation email will follow once your participation is approved.

Please make your travel arrangements only after receiving your confirmation email.

As the event is intended to be truly international, and we want to give everyone a fair chance to participate, we will accept and confirm registrations on a "first come, first serve" basis, with certain participation quotas reserved for the participating countries and different law firms/organisations.

Please note that there is no registration/participation fee; however, dinner will be separately invoiced to registered participants, and the afterparty as well as the optional social programme on Saturday are on a self-pay basis.

Please book a hotel near the city centre, as all venues are located there. As Friday's programme begins in the morning, we recommend arriving in Oslo on Thursday to make the most of the event.
