The Egyptian Arbitration Law after Thirty Years: A National Journey through a Comparative Lens

Marking the 30th anniversary of Egypt’s Arbitration Law No. 27 of 1994, this conference “The Egyptian Arbitration Law after Thirty Years: A National Journey through a Comparative Lens” offers a timely and in-depth reflection on the evolution, practice, and impact of the Egyptian arbitration framework. Organized by the Cairo Regional Centre for International Commercial Arbitration (CRCICA) in collaboration with the Ciarb Egypt Branch, the event will take place on Wednesday, 15 October 2025, at the CRCICA Auditorium in Cairo, with the support of strategic partners including IFCAI and Francarbi.

This landmark gathering will convene prominent figures from the arbitration world—leading jurists, international arbitrators, scholars, and institutional heads—to critically examine the law’s development over the past three decades. The conference will explore how the Egyptian Arbitration Law has shaped the domestic and regional dispute resolution landscape, and how it compares with international standards and emerging practices in other jurisdictions.

With a strong comparative dimension, the sessions will offer insights into reform experiences across various legal systems, creating a platform for knowledge exchange and policy dialogue. Through expert discussions and high-level keynote interventions, the conference aims not only to assess the current state of arbitration in Egypt but also to highlight potential pathways for modernization and harmonization with global best practices.
