We are pleased to announce that the DIS Practice Group Settlement has finalized its report on early conflict resolution, a key feature of the 2018 DIS Arbitration Rules.

Article 26 of the DIS Arbitration Rules empowers arbitral tribunals to encourage settlement at every stage of the proceedings. The report explores this provision in depth, reviewing global approaches to settlement facilitation, examining the complementary role of ADR mechanisms, and offering practical guidance for implementing Article 26.

Settlement facilitation remains a core strength of the DIS Arbitration Rules and plays a vital role in modern international arbitration. We invite you to explore the report and consider how its insights can support your practice.

The DIS extends its sincere gratitude to the Practice Group coordinators — Ulrike Gantenberg, Patricia Peterson, Nikoletta Kröger, Hanna Shalbanava, and Axel Reeg — and to all contributors for their dedication and outstanding work. Your expertise has created a valuable resource for the arbitration community and marks an important step forward in advancing efficient dispute resolution under the DIS Arbitration Rules.
