Dear Members,

I am writing these lines still under the impression of our first DIS summer party that took place on 25 August 2023 at our DIS office in Bonn. The party was a real success, with more than 100 members from the arbitration community enjoying a delightful summer evening in our gardens. I sincerely thank all guests for coming and making the evening truly memorable. It was a pleasure to see the exchange of ideas and experiences among our members, fostering a sense of unity and collaboration within our arbitration community.

In addition, I am pleased to announce the hiring of two new colleagues: Dominique Braun as counsel and Kerstin Heiseler as case administrator. Their expertise and dedication will enhance our institution's capabilities and further strengthen our commitment to excellence and efficiency in the administration of cases. Please join me in welcoming them and extending our support as they embark on this new journey with us. You could learn more about them in the section below "Insights: Behind the Scenes of the DIS".

Furthermore, I am proud to inform you that the DIS has recently signed the Pledge for Greener Arbitration. As an institution, we recognize the importance of sustainable practices and are committed to reducing our environmental impact.

As we move forward, I encourage all members to actively participate in this initiative and our upcoming events. Your involvement and support are crucial in shaping the future of the DIS and advancing arbitration in Germany.

I look forward to our future endeavours and the positive impact we will create together.

Warm regards,

Ramona Schardt
