What is your role at the DIS?

I am a Case Administrator and part of the Case Management team at the DIS. My main professional duty is to ensure efficient management of cases in accordance with the DIS Arbitration Rules.

What path led you to the DIS?

After graduating from Tbilisi State University, I continued my master’s degree at the University of Augsburg, where I studied German and International law. Alternative Dispute Resolution - especially arbitration - has always been a special interest of mine. Having worked in law firms in Munich and Berlin, I was excited to have an unique opportunity to combine my experience with my interest and get a first-hand perspective of arbitration.

What do you particularly appreciate about your work?

I received a very friendly welcome at the DIS. One can really feel the team spirit here by realizing that everyone is willing to help you. That is one of the main reasons why I enjoy going to work every day.

What motivates you?

The opportunity for personal and professional development is the key factor. Apart from that, DIS as a prominent international institute is interested in strengthening partnership with Georgian institutions for alternative dispute resolution, and I would be very happy if I could also contribute to this process and do something positive for my country.

How would you describe the DIS in three key words?

Professional, international, and inspiring

Tell us a fun fact we should know about you?

I love travelling and exploring new places. I travel almost every weekend. When I was still living in Munich, I had to be in Athens on Saturday to attend the wedding of one of my friends and the next day, another friend of mine was having a wedding in Vienna.

Guess what I did? I flew to Athens on Friday night, spent amazing time there and then took a plane to Vienna on Sunday morning to attend the second wedding as well. I think it was one of the best decisions I have ever made.
