What is your role at the DIS?

As Counsel in the DIS Case Management Team, I help keep arbitral proceedings running smoothly and on track. From supporting parties and tribunals to offering legal advice to the DIS, I’m part legal guide, part procedural problem-solver.

What path led you to the DIS?

My journey started with a bachelor degree, followed by two master’s programs - one of which, in Stockholm, focused on international commercial arbitration. That’s where I caught the arbitration bug. I became increasingly curious about how things work behind the scenes at arbitral institutions, which eventually led me to the DIS. Now, I get to be part of the process I once studied.

What do you particularly appreciate about your work?

Definitely the team. I appreciate our calm collectiveness, the way we support one another, and the fact that there’s always room for a spontaneous laugh, even on the busy days. It does make all the difference. On top of that, I love getting a front-row seat to the inner workings of the institution and the wide variety of cases I get to read and follow every day.

What motivates you?

I’m motivated by the opportunity to have an impact, to help the DIS realize its potential and achieve its objectives. I enjoy bringing fresh energy and ideas from my previous experiences, learning and making everyone’s life a little easier, whether that’s the parties, the arbitrators, or my colleagues in the Case Management Team.

How would you describe the DIS in three key words?

DIScrete, DIScerning and DIStinctive

Tell us a fun fact we should know about you.

Unlike Camellia, I only have a 248-day Duolingo streak.
